-February 1865-

After a close encounter to a bloody Civil War skirmish, and with the threat of several impending battles looming nearby, the Green family concludes that the war is getting too close for comfort. They decide to depart North Carolina, on an adventurous journey, organizing and leading a west bound wagon train through dangerous territory. They face adversity, hardships and even gun battles in their heroic attempt to reach the safety of a more peaceful land. The growing band of pioneers hopes to settle and start a new life, if they succeed. Young David Green matures into early manhood, as fate and circumstances, started molding him into a gunfighter. Always generously helping desperate and less fortunate people, the Greens' charitable nature has begun to affect their other travel companions, proving that their deeds are a product of faith. Faith is on their side, but the odds are against them.
